The Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution to give Congress the power to make laws - not the President. As your Representative, I'll fight to reclaim and defend Congress' power to decide on spending, taxes and tariffs, and when and where America goes to war.

H.R. 1 - the White House's "BIG" budget bill - extended tax cuts for the super-wealthy. I will vote to repeal billionaires' tax cuts so that everyone pays their fair share - and working families get to keep more of their hard-earned money.

We cannot continue with a health care system that is controlled by for-profit insurance companies instead of patients and providers. I will fight for new policies like "Medicare for All" or a public option so that people can get the care they need without fear of going broke.

The White House's "BIG" budget bill also slashed funding to social services and imposed strict rules (like work requirements). I will fight to reverse Medicare and Medicaid cuts - and not just restore the lost funding but ensure that these programs are fully funded in order to keep the promises we have made to one another as Americans.

Many Americans don't know that the taxes they pay into Social Security ("FICA" on your pay stub) are capped at incomes over $184,500. I will fight to eliminate the cap on Social Security taxes in order to ensure that wealthy taxpayers are fully contributing to cost of Americans' retirement.

The Boundary Waters are nothing less than sacred. We do not need or want them to be exploited for mining or other purposes - and certainly not when it benefits foreign companies and foreign markets.
I will be a NO on any proposal to remove protections for the BWCA.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has done massive damage to modern medicine with its bizarre policies along with devastating cuts to research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). I will fight to impeach HHS Secretary RFK, Jr., clean house of anti-vax and anti-science officials, and revive America's long tradition of leading the world in medical research and innovation.

The United States and Israel have a longstanding relationship dating back to 1947 - but the current Israeli government is completely out of control and is engaged in what can only be described as a genocide against the Palestinian people. I support withholding or restricting aid to Israel until it ends its war of terror in Gaza.

America is a nation of immigrants - and we need immigration laws that establish clear rules as well as a straightforward and clear path to citizenship. I will fight for common-sense reform that works for immigrants and employers alike and reduces the time, cost and red tape associated with becoming an American.

Reproductive health care decisions are purely a matter between a woman and her medical providers. I support full reproductive rights.

This country cannot be free if all people aren't free to be who they are, love who they love, or marry and start a family without government interference. Congress should "mind its own damn business."

Minnesota has a long tradition of responsible gun ownership by citizens who purchase and lawfully carry them for hunting or self-protection - and I will defend that right.

But assault-style weapons are different; they are mass killing machines - and I will fight to keep them off of our streets.

Climate change is real, and we as a nation need to acknowledge our outsized role in contributing to global warming and its catastrophic effects on our planet. I will fight to get the US back into the Paris Accords - and here at home will resist any effort to halt the transition away from non-renewable energy resources like fossil fuels.

The federal invasion of Minnesota is an outrage. The reign of terror - and literally, death - must stop NOW. I support efforts to withhold ICE funding, even if it means a shutdown, to force ICE out Minnesota - and in Congress will seek to dismantle ICE so this never happens again.
